MY APPROACH TO SPIRITUAL DIRECTION SUPERVISION?
I will endeavor to foster a sense of mutual respect and trust in a non-judgmental atmosphere. I will approach each session with humility, honesty, and integrity. I will employ active listening skills to be fully present and engaged in our conversations, while striving to maintain the mindset of respectful unknowing, which I hope will allow you to feel comfortable enough to open up and present your interactions/sessions with your directees as they happen not as they should have gone, or you hoped they would have gone.
Depending on the specific nature of the supervision you require, for example supervision of: individuals or groups spiritual direction sessions or supervision of retreats (silent directed or 19th annotation), will determine the methods of supervision employed. Techniques utilized can include: Verbatim technique with fundemental spiritual direction skills sheet, SOAP, Wernersville Form, or Problem Oriented Supervision.
